Sunflower Coasters
Materials
- Cotton yarn, medium worsted weight #4. Color A: I Love This Cotton- Brown, Color B: I Love This Cotton- Curry
- US size F/3.75mm crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn Needle
Pattern Key (US Terms)
ch = chain, sc= single crochet, dc = double crochet, tr = treble crochet, dtr= double treble crochet, sl st = slip stitch, st(s) = stitch(es),
Speciality Stitch
ch-2 picot = chain 2 and slip stitch into the double treble crochet stitch that you just worked.

- Gauge is not crucial for this project.
- Chain 1 and chain 2 do NOT count as a stitch.
Pattern Instructions
Center (Using Color A)
Form a magic circle.
Round 1: ch1, (sc, dc) 4 times into magic circle, sl st into first st to join. (8 sts)
Round 2: ch 2, (dc, sc) into each st around, sl st into first st to join. (16sts)
Round 3: Ch 1, [sc, (dc, sc) in next st, dc in next st, (sc, dc) in next st] 4 times, sl st into first st to join. (24 sts)
Round 4: Ch 2, [dc in first st, sc in next st, (dc, sc) in next st) 8 times, sl st into first st to join. (32 sts)
Round 5: Ch 1, [sc, dc, sc, (dc, sc) in next st, dc, sc, dc, (sc, dc)] 4 times, sl st in first st to join. (40 sts)
Round 6: Ch 2, [dc, sc, dc, sc (dc,sc)] 8 times, sl st in first st to join, fasten off. (48 sts)
Petals
Attach Color B into any stitch with a sl st.
Round 7: [Ch 3, (tc, dtc, ch-2 picot)in next st, (dtc, tc) in next st, ch 3, sl st into next st] 16 times, fasten off. (16 petals)
Weave in ends.
